Classics of Eastern 'Loong', Chapter 4

Four occasions for loongs to self-protection are the occasion of sexual intercourse, the occasion of sleep, the occasion of anger, and the occasion of birth.

If a loong crosses with an ox, there will have a lin; if a loong crosses with a horse, there will have a horse; if a loong crosses with a hog, there will have an elephant. In eight feet, this is the Horse Loong; with one horn, this is the Sheep Loong; with four feet and two pair of wings, this is the Chicken Loong; having a black body, a white head, long ears and a curly tail, this is the Dog Loong.

The loong's fire will become even more intense when it gets water. The metal produced by the loong can be regenerated even if it is cut off.

Loongs have 3 favorites, they are pearls and jade, malachite, finally poultry meat.

Loongs have 3 annoyances. The first one is being affected by the wind, the heat and the sand. Together the wind, the heat and the sand will burn the loongs. The second one is being affected by the storm. The storm will strip loongs of their pretty and fine clothes. The third one is being suffered by Garuda (a sort of bird with a pair of golden wings), who is loong's natural enemy. There is saying that the four annoyance is being changed to body of snake when a loong wants to mate.

Loongs are mysterious, and keep the secret in their movements and traces. Loongs are created for some certain missions, so they have their own destinies. Loong can live over 10,000 years. Loong is the indication for being born a saint. If there is no saint be born, loong will disappear from the scene.
